The knight is a blessing and a curse. It just depends what the position is on the chess board whether it will help or impede your strategy.
Pros:
The knights movement lets it get onto squares that may be blocked since it can jump over other pieces.
Great for close quarters combat. If the positions closed on the board the knight is your best friend.
Great for forking multiple pieces at time. We’ve all bee royally forked so we know the power.
Cons:
It has limited range. But it can reach a lot of squared in the center of the board.
Usually not good on the edge of the board as it has limited control of squares.
They can also be a little tricky to coordinate with other pieces especially in open positions.
